Why a bodo demands Bodoland?

In the present hour the rise of demand for a separate state by the Bodo peoples of Assam, to curve out of Assam  is a warming issue in the region. Almost each and every Bodo people think that the state of Bodoland is their only way for their existence as a Bodo. Thousands of Bodos, from small school-boy to an aged person comes out during every rally and demand for a state, united together. In a way which has strengthened the bond of brotherhood among Bodos.

In the other hand the Assamese peoples(Assamese speaking peoples) mostly feels that the demand of Bodoland is Impractical with such a few population, which is somewhat more than 25 lack .But ironically the neighbor state of Arunachal Pradesh haves about 14 lack of population, Meghalaya about 13 lack, Mizoram around 8 to 9 lack. And thus the Bodos feels that why can not they have a state with such an outnumbered population. Even the neighbor country of Bhutan is a Country
with only 6 lakes of population.

And thus the majority Assamese speaking peoples shows a sour reaction against the demand, and argue that every Assamese peoples living in Assam is an Assamese and the communities like Bodo, Garos,Tiwas etc are the true Assamese and son of soil and should proudly call themselves an Assamese. But the truth is, even if the concept of Greater Assamese may look Glittering, it is full of faults and was always been a failure, which can be clearly seen as a bodo does not see himself represented with the name Assamese, for which he does not want to be represented as an Assamese. Even the Assamese language is a particular language and represents a particular community, which have mainly Aryan dialects. On the other hand Bodo peoples speak Bodo(boro) language which haves origins from Tibbeto-Burmese linguistic family far different from the Assamese language, no way to bridge both. They feel they are still neglected as only bihu dance, dhul-pepa, gamusa, mekhela, doi-seera, khorai, etc are portrayed to represent Assam.Questions arrases in them, if we are Assamese why don't they represent us, why not our dokhna, kham, siphung, bagurumba etc. Does it means they are telling us, "you all are inferior to us", and we are dominating you. You should identify yourself by the identity we gave.Which they denies and never agrees to assimilate.
