Representative image          JWHWLAO DWIMALU(sometimes spelled daimalu) is perceived to be a hero of the ancient golden periods of bodos. Today he is imprinted as the curse of bodo people's tragedy because it is believed that he had cursed the bodos after he was betrayed by his clans. A statue of Jwhwlao Dwimalu carrying his bow and arrows can be seen pointing his hand to the sky near the national highway of India in the Kharigao village of Kokrajhar district. Why a bodo demands Bodoland?

                                      In the present hour the rise of demand for a separate state by the Bodo peoples of Assam, to curve out of Assam  is a warming issue in the region. Almost each and every Bodo people think that the state of Bodoland is their only way for their existence as a Bodo. Thousands of Bodos, from small school-boy to an aged person comes out during every rally and demand for a state, united together.
